Learn about the reality of Schuyler and why Tumission is an urgent and necessary response.

Schuyler faces challenges that directly affect the well-being of children, youth, and families.
The city does not have enough safe, accessible, and formative spaces where people can learn, coexist, play, create, and develop holistically.
This lack of opportunities limits the personal, social, and emotional growth of the community, generating consequences that extend to families, schools, and the social environment.
Many children and youth spend much of their free time in front of screens, without healthy alternatives that promote movement, play, creativity, social interaction, and critical thinking. Excessive screen use is now considered a public health issue in many parts of the world and in our communities. Furthermore, the lack of adequate spaces increases the risk of isolation, stress, anxiety, and socio-emotional difficulties.
Families need support, guidance, and spaces where they can strengthen bonds, improve coexistence, and develop skills to face the challenges of modern life. The absence of accessible programs limits opportunities for family growth.
Schuyler needs programs that develop leaders, strengthen socio-emotional skills, and prepare the next generation to become professionals, active citizens, and agents of change. The community needs spaces where children and youth can learn to manage emotions, resolve conflicts, work as a team, develop creativity, and build healthy relationships.
Preliminary results from the community survey show that Schuyler does not have enough spaces where people can access educational, artistic, sports, recreational, and emotional education activities in a continuous and coordinated way.
The community clearly expresses the need for a place that brings these opportunities together in one space.
“Tumission is necessary because the community needs it today, not tomorrow. And because investing in the well-being of children and youth is investing in the future of the entire city.”
Tumission emerges as a direct response to this reality. Our purpose is to offer real alternatives that transform free time, reduce isolation, strengthen coexistence, and promote human development.
When a community has access to emotional education, arts, play, sports, and spaces for connection, empathy, resilience, leadership, and belonging flourish.
